Multiple skins, customization options, and advanced features
Users around the world try to improve their computer’s sound while playing music or watching video content. Their only choice is the equalizer component, which comes with presets in the audio player. While DFX Audio Enhancer isn’t too different, it has a wider scope when applied to improving the audio of the entire system. In other words, this audio editor or audio software program enhances the sound quality of installed rendering apps and multimedia platforms.
How to get started?
Getting started with DFX Audio Enhancer isn’t a difficult task. However, the installation package comes with third-party software. Because of that, you'll need to keep a check on the tool during installation. At times, the process may be interrupted by Windows firewall, which would need your consent to proceed. Depending on your PC hardware, you might also need an additional drive for the app.
Other important screens include your consent for sharing anonymous statistics with the development team. If you want to receive updates about ‘Max Recorder’, a third-party tool pushed by the company, you can choose to provide your email address.
What about the interface?
Compared with other sound editing tools like Incredibox, Virtual DJ, and Letasoft Sound Booster, this audio editor comes with a simpler interface. The UI is straightforward and intuitive. It doesn’t require you to possess any special skills or technical knowledge. Throughout the editing or enhancement process, you don’t have to shuffle between multiple screens.
There’s a spectrum analyzer to display the current sound output for the audio. Ten bands represent the different sound frequencies.
Based on these, the audio software lets you refine or improve the audio. This makes the sound editor quite useful for an audiophile, who can detect even minimal changes. To tweak audio settings, the program gives a choice between five components, including Dynamic Boost, Hyperbass, 3D Surround, Ambience, and Fidelity.
What features are there?
DFX Audio Enhancer supports multiple customization options, accessible by dragging a slide bar from zero to ten. If you choose to download the demo version, you will only be able to reach level five, and 3D Surround will not be available. However, you can still change the processing mode, which features three preset profiles designed to optimize sound for speech and music. This is quite useful for radio, podcasts, movies, etc.
The audio editing tool features two profiles for music. While one targets generic users, the other one covers modern styles. Additionally, the audio software offers some advanced sound editing tools, such as a list of presets configured for certain categories, including classical, blues, folk, jazz, techno, rock, hip-hop, and urban. You can also create and save customized presets by adjusting the components in the audio editor.
The most powerful feature in the sound editing tool is the ability to associate presets with specific songs. So, whenever the app detects playback, it switches to the correct preset and ensures an improved listening experience.
The home screen of the sound editor links to a popular music service via the ‘Explore’ button. You can use it to find artists, watch multimedia content, or learn more about the music industry. To access the service, you can use your existing Facebook credentials.
If you’re unhappy with the way your Windows PC sounds, DFX Audio Enhancer can be an excellent choice. It not only improves the audio quality but gives various customization options to play around with playback. The Dynamic Boost is an amazing feature, which turns your basic speakers into a decent sound system.
Should you download it?
DFX Audio Enhancer is a powerful audio editor. It brings HD sound quality directly to your system. The audio software lets you enhance the playback with higher fidelity, 3D surround sound, dynamic boost, and booming bass. Just install the program on your computer, and you’ll be amazed with the ease-of-use, range of features, and multiple presets.
DFX Audio Enhancer can easily improve the sound of videos, music files, websites, video chats, games, internet radio, and other applications. With the ‘Explore’ feature, you can even discover new music videos, song lyrics, and other important information. The program also comes with multiple skins to change the overall appearance.
The Best Audio Editing Software: 11 Audio Editors for Any Situation
In order to create a podcast, cut the pauses out of a webinar recording, or add effects to a video soundtrack, you'll need audio editing software. Which audio editor you choose ultimately depends on a few factors: what you'll be using the editor for, your overall skill level, and your budget.
There's no one-size-fits-all audio editor, but there also isn't a shortage of options. After testing dozens of tools, here we'll present the 11 best audio editors for a variety of use cases.
What Makes a Great Audio Editor?
The best audio editors are designed purely with audio editing in mind. Many digital audio workstations (DAWs) include audio editing features but are ultimately designed with music production in mind. We've chosen only true audio editors for inclusion in this piece. You won't find packages like GarageBand, Ableton Live, or Pro Tools on this list.
Get more app tips from Zapier
Every editor we've chosen has a full set of basic editing controls. This is the bread and butter of audio manipulation, including recording from a microphone, selecting audio on a waveform, copying and pasting, and deleting audio from the timeline. You should be able to use any of these apps to trim an audio file down to size or merge two files together. These kinds of simple waveform edits are often referred to as destructive editing, where edits you make to the file overwrite the original when you click Save.
We've selected a variety of apps that bring something unique to the table. Not all of these features are essential to everyone looking for audio editing software, and your final decision will depend on the task at hand and your overall level of expertise:
Some apps make it easy for the less experienced audio editor. An uncluttered interface and simple workflow ensure unnecessary features don't get in the way of the basics. Some editors take this a step further and handle audio levels for you. Others offer one-click repairs to remove hiss and pops from your recording.
For more complex projects, a multi-track editor may be required. These may support the recording of multiple sources at once or non-destructive clip-based edits. You might find these features handy if you're putting together a podcast and want to use sound effects or background music alongside your primary audio track. They also use more system resources than simple destructive waveform editing.
Audio editing isn't just about recording and moving around sound files. Effects are useful for repairing and enhancing your audio too. These include compressing tracks to smooth out recordings that vary in volume, using an equalizer to boost or cut particular frequencies, and applying filters that drastically change the sound of your file. Some editors even support external effects via plugins.
If you're editing audio for use in a broadcast, adherence to common broadcast standards should make life easier. The ability to manipulate and mix audio into a video file—known as "muxing"—removes the need to render large video files for small audio edits.
Lastly, support for a wide array of audio files and formats may be important to some users. Simple editors only deal in basic uncompressed waveform audio (WAV) and common lossy formats (MP3, AAC). Others specialize in compressed lossless files (FLAC, Apple Lossless) and less common lossy formats (OGG, MPC).

Best audio editor for an alternative to Adobe Audition, without the subscription

You don't need an audio editor until you need to edit audio. That means you should pick your editor of choice based on what you're trying to achieve.
Free editors like Audacity and Ocenaudio are good starting points for most users. If you're finding the free options a little limiting, budget editors like Fission provide more pleasant working environments and robust feature sets. Other premium products provide unique benefits, like Hindenburg's focus on interviews and podcasts. Wow, this was an unexpected godsend
Worked right out of the box. Sound Control Panel has enhancements such as bass boost (important for me). My USB headset wire messed up and only had a 3.5mm audio jack. I have a weird setup with multiple soundcards which is why i prefer USB. Being able to use this with the other headset saved me money. It seems a tiny bit flimsy, but it works like magic. Very grateful, thanks!

They work with the Apple iPhone earbuds mic!
Due to Covid-19, almost everyone in my company works from home now. We use an Avaya softphone product, Skype, Teams, GoToMeeting, etc. I have over-the-head Plantronics earphones with a mic that work fine, but I got tired of wearing them all day. The desktop PCs they provide us have a headphone jack, but that jack doesn't pass audio through it, so I can't just plug-and-go with my iPhone earbuds (at least if I want anyone to hear me in meetings). I couldn't find anywhere online that said the Atlas Edge works with the mic on iPhone earbuds, but I can confirm that the Atlas Edge successfully passes audio through from the iPhone mic! I can now wear my iPhone earbuds instead of that over-the-head headset for phone calls and meetings, and everyone says they can hear me well. Just keep in mind that the Atlas Edge works with an old-school 3.5 mm headphone jack. So if you have iPhone earbuds made in the past few years (that plugs into the lightning port), you need to also use the little old-school headphone jack adapter that came with those earbuds, and then plug THAT into the Atlas Edge.
